MYP Trip to St. Petersburg, Russia

From April 29th until May 3rd the ISL middle school students visited the Northern capital of Russia, St. Petersburg. After exiting visa and passport control we were finally admitted to the Russian Federation, with everyone and their bags still present. Spring MAP Testing

During the weeks of April 15-27, grades K-11 will be taking the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessment with Grades 6-11 testing the first week and grades K-5 the second week.  MAP is a computerized adaptive assessment produced by Northwest Evaluation Association located in the United States.  This is the assessment that students were administered in the Fall and now with the Spring testing, will show individual student growth within the areas of Reading, Language Usage, and Mathematics. Art Exhibition

The 12th grade IB Art students will be exhibiting 2 years of their art experience from March 14th through March 29th. The exhibition will be held in the lobby. Please stop by and appreciate their hard work!

The main goal of any Design Technology project is to find solutions to real-world problems and after learning about Industrial Design elements, why and how products are designed and created, the class and Ms. Grike decided that they would design and create an informational computer terminal for the school's front lobby. Medical Care for Children in Ethiopia

Our exhibition project is about children having proper medical care in Ethiopia.  Children have big problems with getting medical care. We want to learn more about this problem. Our fundraising project was to sell Valentin’s cards at school and give information about issue. The money we raise will go to UNICEF.    

 

We found out that 144.000 children in Ethiopia are dying from malaria.

Air Pollution

Category: 

Isabel, Nicole, and Gabriele are exploring air pollution, for our grade 5 exhibition and how it affects living beings. We chose this topic because we care about the earth’s atmosphere and how humans are polluting the air. Air pollution can affect your health and the environment greatly. If we do not take air of our earth and its atmosphere we will live in a nightmare. Read more about Air Pollution
