What's New in PYP? ISA Testing - September 27th and 28th.
All PYP and MYP Students will be taking the International Schools Assessment Test this year. These tests do not count toward a student's grade. They are simply a way for us to measure our students' progress in reading, writing, and mathematics, against other students in grades 3-10 around the world.
Students do not need to study for these tests. We simply ask that they get a good night's sleep, have a healthy breakfast, and come to school ready to try their best.
Thank you to all parents who attended the back to School Night. It is always a pleasure to see you.
Our Country Showcase projects will continue throughout the year. Please click here to find out when your nationality will be highlighted in our lower school. Thank you for taking the time to help your child present about their culture to the other students in their class.
Please sign up for after school activities. You can sign up on-line by clicking on sports/activities.
The Primary Years Programme (PYP), for students aged 3 to 12, focuses on the development of the whole child, in the classroom but also in the world outside, through other environments where children learn. It offers a framework that meets children's several needs: academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural.
The PYP serves as an excellent introduction to the Middle Years Programme (MYP), but it is not a prerequisite for this or for the Diploma Programme (DP).
The PYP is a comprehensive approach to teaching and learning with an international curriculum model that provides:
guidelines for what students should learn
a teaching methodology
assessment strategies.
After consultation with the IBO, and provided certain conditions are met, schools enjoy much flexibility in terms of the language of instruction and languages taught.
