Effective technology integration is achieved when its use supports curricular goals.
The technology department at ISL aims to help teachers and students effectively adapt and use new technologies that increase student engagement and learning. As of the 2016-2017 school year, we are a 1-to-1 laptop school after realizing the final goal of the current strategic technology plan. Being a 1-to-1 laptop school allows teachers to redefine tasks in the classroom and increases student engagement and learning.
New students at ISL in grades 6-12 are expected to bring their own laptops as part of our BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) program. For more information regarding this program, student requirements, etc, please click HERE.
In order to implement and support new technology initiatives at ISL, the technology program has two dedicated staff members in Seth Hendrickson and Ron Slachta. Their purpose is to support teachers through professional development, maintain the school technology infrastructure, and explore new technology initiatives that will benefit the school community.
